What about your job, Mr. Shiota?

Last year, the Financial Supervisory Agency was created. In the U.S.,
you can easily open a business in some states. So, in the midst of
deregulation, there was a trend to establish an office in Japan by companies
selling insurance and financial products which had been started up in the
U.S. When I accepted this type of work, I discovered that besides
incorporating a company, there were other things which needed to be executed
such as filing notices with the Financial Supervisory Agency and the Bank
of Japan. It was then that I understood the extent of this business. I had
not realized that there were so many things in which we could become
involved. In this sense, one can specialize in work with companies
investing in Japan.
Currently, I am assisting a company which is attempting to build a support
system for its production line in China such as representative office or a
branch. Nevertheless, compared to Japan, the process is very difficult. I
am intrigued by this assignment because I have to think how to go about
clearing each obstacle.

Listening to Mr. Shiota, I would like to mention that there are other
permit matters, besides parking permits and construction related permits and
authorizations, which need to be explored. Additionally, I feel that even
in the realm judicial affairs, there are other service areas into which we
have not yet wandered. As long as you study, become qualified and
accumulate experience, whether it is in terms of judicial affairs or permits
and authorizations, countryside or metropolitan area, not only should it be
possible for administrative scriveners to sustain their practices, but, I
think their prospects for the future are extremely attractive.
